Running a league

roomZy Leagues turns rounds played on your sims into a live leaderboard — automatically. You set up the league and its roster, players tee off, and roomZy captures each scorecard off the bay, figures out whose it is, and posts it. This manual walks the whole thing: creating a league, linking players so their scores find them, playing league rounds, and reading (and fixing) the board.

Before you start

How it works, in one paragraph

A league is a normal set of reservations plus a roster and a leaderboard. When a rostered player plays a round on a bay you've told roomZy is a league round, the Concierge reads the finished scorecard, matches it to the player, and drops it on the board. The captured card is always kept as the record of truth — you can adjust a score by hand, but the original card stays put.

1 · Create a league

Leagues → New league
  1. Open Leagues from the left menu and tap New league.
  2. Name it (e.g. Tuesday Night Stroke).
  3. How it runs — pick one:
    • Scheduled — a league night: everyone plays the same set time.
    • Flex — players play their round any time during the week.
  4. Who plays — Individual, 2-person or 4-person teams. A league is one or the other for its whole life, and this locks once a week has scores in.
  5. Set the season — the start date and how many weeks it runs (8–12 is typical). The week count is the season: one week makes it a one-off, and the end date follows from it.
  6. Set the first round — its time, bay, and 9 or 18 holes.
  7. Roster — search your guests and tap + to add each player; added players turn the accent colour with a ✓ (tap again to remove). A ⛳ next to a name means they've linked their aboutGolf account (see step 2).
  8. Tap Review →, check the summary, then Create & set up. That drops you straight on the Setup screen below.

Creating a league makes a league reservation for its session. Auto-fire is off on it, so it won't power a bay on its own — players tee off as usual.

Creating a league only asks for the essentials. How it's played — the format of each week, the teams, handicaps and points — lives on the Setup screen, so you're never asked the same question twice.

Setup — the season, week by week
  1. The season table is the heart of it. Each week has its own format, because most leagues rotate: week 1 two-person cumulative stroke, week 2 a scramble, week 3 alternate shot. Set each week's date, format and 9 or 18 holes, and add or remove weeks any time.
    • Stroke (cumulative) — everyone plays their own ball; the side's scores are added together.
    • Best ball — everyone plays their own ball; the better score on each hole counts.
    • Scramble and Alternate shot — one ball between the partners, so the card carries a single score for the side.
    • Match play — decided hole by hole rather than on total strokes.
  2. Teams (2- and 4-person leagues) — name each team and fill its seats from your roster. Teams stay together all season and a player can only be on one. Search and the filters help when you're running thirty of them, and roomZy warns you about anyone left without a team.
  3. Handicaps — pick one:
    • Gross only — no handicaps; raw scores decide everything.
    • Static net — each player's handicap is set at the start and never moves.
    • Dynamic net — it moves with play: the best 3 of a player's last 5 rounds, holding their starting number until they have 3 rounds in. Those numbers are yours to change.
A handicap is the strokes a player receives, halved on a 9-hole week and currently taken off their total score. (roomZy also reads how hard each hole is from your scorecard, so giving strokes on particular holes instead is something we can turn on — ask if your league plays that way.) Scramble and alternate-shot weeks are skipped — partners share one ball, so nobody posts an individual score that could move a handicap. Those weeks still count fully for points.
  4. Scoring & standings — what a win, tie and loss are worth (2 / 1 / 0 to start), what the standings rank on, and whether to drop each side's worst week or two.
  5. Tap Save changes. You can come back and change anything that hasn't been played yet.

Weeks that already have scores in are locked — their format, date and holes stop being editable. Re-scoring a finished week under a different format would rewrite the standings after the fact.

2 · Link players' launch-monitor accounts

This is the step that makes scores find the right player by themselves. Open a guest (Guests → tap a guest → Edit) and use the Launch-monitor accounts panel to link their aboutGolf member — their username and member number (the digits after the dash on their scorecard, e.g. TODDDICKSON-71003). You can type it or use Search aG.

Why it's worth doing

3 · Play a league round

The key idea: roomZy needs to know a round is this league's round. There are two ways to tell it, and both make the captured card bind to the league automatically.

Option A — Start round (a league night)
  1. Open the league and tap Start round in the header. That arms the bay with the match and roster.
  2. Players tee off on the sim as normal.
  3. When they finish, the Concierge captures the card and it lands on the league's Scores — no further clicks.
Option B — Flex walk-in (from the reservation)
  1. Book the player a reservation as usual (▶ Now for a walk-in). See Creating a reservation.
  2. If that guest is on an active league roster, a Playing in league dropdown appears on the form — pick the league they're playing tonight.
  3. Save. roomZy tags the reservation and arms the bay for you. The player tees off; the round binds to the league when it's captured.

On the bay screen

4 · The league page

Tap a league from the list to open it. Five tabs:

The tabs

5 · Reading a round card

Each round is a row you can expand. Matched rounds start collapsed (they're done); rounds that need attention start open. The collapsed row shows the player names, the course / bay / time, a ⛳ league chip, the matched event id, and a status badge (Matched · high, Suggested, Needs review…). Tap it to expand.

The buttons, and when to use them

A clean matched round only shows View card and Unmatch — nothing else is needed. The other buttons appear only where they help.

6 · Fixing a score by hand

Exceptions happen — a concession, a mis-scored hole, a disqualification. Expand the round, and on any player's row tap Edit to set an adjusted gross with a required reason.

How overrides behave

7 · Refresh, export, and delete
