roomZy Edge — the controller at your venue

roomZy Edge is the box at your venue that actually runs the bays: it switches the power units, wakes the sim PCs, and talks to the projectors, taking its instructions from your bookings. It lives on your wired network next to the equipment, updates itself, and keeps working when the internet doesn't.

Two pages on your network

The Edge serves two pages to any phone or computer on the venue's network. roomZy gives you its address during setup; if a screen is plugged in, the status display shows it too. Reachability of power units, projectors and PCs is under Settings → Apps & devices → Device health.

First stop when a bay isn't behaving: if the power unit shows unreachable here, the problem is on the network, not in the cloud.

Local control pagestaff sign-in

http://<edge-address>/

  1. Sign in as admin. Each Edge has its own first-time password — roomZy gives it to you at setup, and support@roomzy.io can look it up for you. You're asked to choose your own password before anything else.
  2. You get the same bay cards as the dashboard: each outlet, the projector, the PC, and Start / Stop per bay, plus Start all / Stop all.
  3. An OFFLINE tag in the top bar means the Edge can't reach roomZy right now. Every button still works; the dashboard catches up when the connection returns.

Plug in a screen

The Edge has an HDMI output. Connect any TV or monitor and it shows a live status screen: your venue's name, whether it's connected to roomZy, each bay with ON / OFF and its current or next booking, and the address of the local control page. It updates every few seconds and needs no keyboard or sign-in — handy behind the desk or in the equipment closet.

Kasa lights and plugs

The Edge drives TP-Link Kasa lights, plugs and power strips directly — no extra software, no PC that has to stay on. Enter your Kasa login once under Settings → Apps & devices and tell roomZy what each device does. Details.
